"Living in Africa is a beautiful thing. It encompasses adventure, wildlife, and beautiful nature. Honesty, we are blessed. Growing up in poverty is a sad reality we face here in Kenya and Africa at large. I am a testament to this life, of going to school without food or shoes. Yet, despite all the negative sides of this life, I count myself lucky for managing to acquire an education. Although it was not much, I can at least express myself in English. As a young girl the lack of sanitary products was a nightmare. If two meals a day was a challenge, how could we afford sanitary pads? I am very grateful that One Family One Earth is lending a hand to children, orphans, and families facing similar problems. As for me, being a member of this organization, I am happy to see these kids get what I was missing in my childhood and later life, that their basic needs are covered and that they receive love and support."
